A Weekend of Blooming in Your Own Season
at Treetops in Topanga

Oubaitori is a Japanese expression drawn from four flowering trees ~ cherry, plum, peach, and apricot. Each blossoms according to its own nature, in its own season.

Within this Buddhist concept lives a profound philosophy of non-comparison. The cherry does not rush toward the flowering of the plum. The apricot does not question the timing or identity relative to the peach. Each belongs to the same living landscape while remaining faithful to its own rhythm, architecture, and essence of becoming.

Our lives carry this same intelligence.

Every life has its own ecology. There are seasons for rooting, restoring, shedding, strengthening, ripening, and waiting. There is also wisdom in honoring the unique process as all that has been forming begins us to ask for expression.

Oubaitori invites us to return to the intelligence of our own nature + timing ~ to listen beneath expectation, comparison and external measures of progress and ask a more intimate question:

What season am I actually in, and what wants to be tended here?

Over two restorative days at the beautiful Treetops sanctuary in Topanga, we move from root to bloom.

Saturday · The Wisdom of the Root turns toward nourishment, embodiment, replenishment, and the unseen work of becoming.

Sunday · The Courage of the Bloom opens toward creativity, desire, expression, vitality, and what is ready to be expressed in the seasons to come.

Each day begins with garden tea and a guided meditation with Eve Gaines, followed by Qi Gong + somatic movement co-facilitated with Keiko Matsuo and a generous seasonal lunch around a long table.

After lunch, the structure of the day softens into a spacious afternoon of treatment, water, warmth, plants, rest, and time in the garden~allowing each guest to move at their own rhythm between restoration, reflection, and sensory tending.

Cedar soaking hot tub, infrared sauna, botanical and mineral masks, warmed river stones, outdoor shower, seasonal herbal infusions, oracle cards, journaling, and garden rest are woven throughout the afternoon. Eve will also prepare botanical infusions for the body and offer herbal pour-over baths, bringing plants, water, aroma, warmth, and touch together in a deeply sensory form of tending.

Depending on your reservation, the afternoon also includes either a 75-minute Therapeutic Massage Session with Keiko Matsuo and or a 75-minute Somatic Facial Session with Amber Lee.

Each day closes with a simple integration practice shaped around the movement from root to bloom ~ creating space to recognize what has become clearer, more grounded, or newly alive.

  • Guided Morning Meditation

  • Qi Gong + Somatic Movement

  • Seasonal Lunch

  • Herbal Teas + Botanical Preparations by Eve
