Where Life’s Thresholds are Honored and Crossed with Intention
Life transitions are not problems to solve but thresholds to cross with intention. Drawing from cross-cultural rite of passage traditions, somatic awareness, ecological wisdom, and psycho-spiritual mentorship, I create a space where change can unfold with dignity and depth.
Each engagement is highly personalized, attuned to the rhythm of your life, and designed to support true integration. The work unfolds as a private rite-of-passage mentorship supported by reflective dialogue, embodied practice, time in nature, and ceremonial integration.
Rites of passage are often sought by individuals who sense that a threshold is unfolding — whether through relational change, creative emergence, life-stage transition, grief, leadership expansion, or another unmistakable inner turning.
Private Rites of Passage
My private work is intimate and deeply personalized. Each engagement unfolds in response to the threshold you are navigating — whether that is relational transition, creative emergence, midlife recalibration, grief, leadership expansion, or an inner turning that asks to be met with care and attention.
Guided threshold work — attuned, spacious, and shaped in real time by what is ready to shift.
Rites of passage are often sought by individuals who sense that a threshold in life is unfolding — moments when familiar ways of being no longer feel sufficient, and something new is asking to emerge.
This work often resonates with those who find themselves:
— completing or transforming a relationship
— entering midlife or another significant life stage
— stepping into leadership or deeper vocation
— navigating grief or identity change
— experiencing creative or professional reorientation
— sensing an inner turning toward a more authentic life
Rather than moving through these passages alone, they feel called to meet them consciously, with guidance, reflection, and structure.
My Process
Every rite of passage follows a natural arc: honoring what is ending, entering the fertile and often disorienting space of liminality, and consciously reintegrating into the next chapter of life.
The process unfolds through structured sessions that combine reflection, embodied practice, ritual elements, and clear orientation toward what is emerging.
For deeper arcs, the work culminates in a ceremonial integration that marks the passage and anchors the transformation in lived experience.
The Container
The mentorship unfolds over a series of private sessions designed to support reflection, embodied practice, ritual engagement, and integration.
Sessions are typically 90–120 minutes, allowing the space required to work at depth and move through the layers that life transitions often reveal.
Between sessions, brief touch-ins are available to support continuity and integration as the process unfolds.
The pace and structure remain intentionally spacious and responsive. Each passage is shaped in relationship to the individual and the threshold they are navigating.
Sessions may take place in person at the RITUEL Nature Refuge in the Santa Monica Mountains, or remotely when needed.
Begin with a Conversation
Because these passages are deeply personal, the work begins with a conversation.

YOUR GUIDE | EVE GAINES
Eve Gaines has devoted her life to restoring the deliberate marking of life’s thresholds.
With academic training in medical and psychological anthropology, she studied how traditional cultures guide individuals through identity and life-stage transformation. Her honors thesis examined the absence of meaningful rites of passage in Western society, particularly in women’s lives—a question that continues to inform her work.
Over the past two decades, she has translated this scholarship into lived practice through intentionally designed rites of passage, psycho-spiritual coaching, integrative healing experiences, and traditional herbalism. Her work bridges eco-psychology, embodied leadership, yoga therapy, somatic integration, and apprenticeship with respected teachers and elders across diverse traditions.
Eve is the founder of RITUEL, a land-based sanctuary in the Santa Monica Mountains—an intentionally cultivated retreat environment where beauty, structure, land, and community support profound life transitions.
